Parashat Ki Teitzei

Ki Teitzei contains more commandments than any other portion, seventy-four by the traditional count, most of them about ordinary life. The captive woman in war, the rights of the firstborn, the rebellious son, burial on the day of death. Return a lost animal or garment to its owner; help lift a fallen donkey. Send away the mother bird before taking her eggs. Build a parapet on your roof. Do not mix wool and linen. Marriage, divorce, the widow of a childless man, kidnapping, collateral for loans, paying a worker before sunset, leaving forgotten sheaves for the poor, honest weights and measures. It ends with the command to remember what Amalek did on the road out of Egypt.
