What Jonah is about
Jonah is a story about a prophet rather than a collection of prophecies. Sent to warn Nineveh, Jonah runs the other way, is swallowed by a great fish, and finally delivers his message. The city repents, and the book ends with God's question about mercy. It is read in full on Yom Kippur afternoon.
