What Joshua is about

Joshua picks up at the death of Moses. The people cross the Jordan, Jericho falls, the land is conquered and divided among the tribes, and Joshua renews the covenant at Shechem before he dies.

Opening verse

וַיְהִי אַחֲרֵי מוֹת מֹשֶׁה עֶבֶד יְהוָה וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן מְשָׁרֵת מֹשֶׁה לֵאמֹר׃
