Opening verse
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה בֹּא אֶל־פַּרְעֹה כִּי־אֲנִי הִכְבַּדְתִּי אֶת־לִבּוֹ וְאֶת־לֵב עֲבָדָיו לְמַעַן שִׁתִי אֹתֹתַי אֵלֶּה בְּקִרְבּוֹ׃
And the LORD said unto Moses: ‘Go in unto Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might show these My signs in the midst of them;

Summary
Locusts eat what the hail left, darkness covers Egypt for three days, and Moses announces the last plague. The Israelites are given their first commandment as a people: to count the months from this one. Each household takes a lamb, and on the night of the fourteenth its blood marks the doorposts while the people eat in haste, ready to leave. At midnight every Egyptian firstborn dies, and Pharaoh sends the people out. Six hundred thousand men, with women, children and a mixed multitude, leave after four hundred and thirty years. The portion closes with the laws of Passover, the firstborn and tefillin.
